We visit schools, packs, troops, and other events for presentations!
We started out when my son had just started Boy Scouts. We needed to volunteer for something specific at our troop, and my husband said "my wife can sew!" I began by putting in zippers and mending tents for them.
Later, the scoutmaster asked if I would sew some Rain/Snow Pants for the smaller scouts, because they were going to the mountains and needed protection from the snow; I did. The older boys asked if I would sew them Snow Pants, too, because they didn't want to ruin their Gore-Tex clothes playing in the snow. I sewed about 30 pairs of pants that season!
The word got out that I would do general repairs on tents and make tent bags and rain gear at a reasonable price.

I also spun off into another area because repairing tents is seasonal. My other company is Kelso Custom Covers, a division of Kelso Camping and Repair. I specialize in making garment bags and other specialty items for dance companies, schools, and other youth organizations.
